Functional Medicine is at the forefront of Health as we know it. It is patient-centered medical healing at its best. It focuses on a person as a whole, finding and treating the underlying cause and not just the symptoms.  In doing so, we are able to treat a person holistically and individually making it uniquely tailored to your life.

Genetics has always been believed to be a fixed set of instructions.  However, new research is showing that there is also what is called gene expression, and this is where environmental factors and the foods we eat can affect our genes positively or negatively. These areas of study include: EPIGENETICS, that is, how external factors influence turning genes on when they should be off or off when they should be on; and NUTRIGENOMIC, which is the study of nutrition and its interaction with genes and how it can impact your health.

Naturopathy is a holistic approach to wellness believing that the body has the ability to heal itself given the right conditions. It is based on the principle of treating each person individually and as a whole not based on symptomology.  Naturopathy focuses on prevention medicine uncovering dis-ease long before it has become a diagnosable pathology.

Kinesiology literally means the study of movement.  It combines modern knowledge of the physical body and the intricate functioning of the brain, with ancient knowledge of the bodies energy systems. It can be described by likening the body to a computer; the muscles are the mouse and the nervous system is the wires from the mouse to the central processing unit.

At BWC, we currently do not have Kinesiology services. You may wish to google in your local area. The major educational institutes may offer Kinesiology services in their training schools.  However, feel free to check with us from time to time if we do offer this service in the event we may not have added a new practitioner to the website yet.
